Ortelio Ltd, a research focused company, working on cloud robotics, from Coventry has won a place in an exhibition of the most game-changing innovations from businesses across the country at the UK’s leading innovation show in November.
Ortelio was one of 100 companies nationwide to be selected to exhibit its innovation to over 2,500 businesses at Innovate 2017 on November 8th and 9th at the NEC, Birmingham.
Ortelio is showcasing applications of its Noos cloud robotics platform, which offers cloud-powered intelligence to robots. Noos enables rapid and agile robot app development, offering Computer Vision, Localisation, Mapping and Navigation modules to be used by robots on demand.
Ortelio has already applied its solutions in the delivery of service robotics applications for the elderly, by supporting the MARIO project to offer care for the elderly of different abilities in different contexts, through robots that can match such abilities and contexts in a safe and secure environment that respects privacy and autonomy. MARIO robots will be showcased at Innovate 2017.
Deployment costs for a Noos-powered robotic solution can be as low as 10% of the cost of a conventional robot that performs all functions on-board.
The annual innovation showcase organised by Innovate UK brings the brightest and boldest UK innovators together to inspire businesses, individuals and government to tackle the challenges of tomorrow.
Innovate UK Chief Executive, Dr Ruth McKernan said: “Innovate 2017 will be an ideal platform for Ortelio to showcase their game-changing innovation to national and international businesses and investors. I congratulate Ortelio on their success in winning a place, they are an excellent example of the strength of UK innovation.”
